The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1746-IC16 input module is a digital input module from the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 series. It is approved for all non-hazardous industrial environments and for hazardous industrial environments that are rated as Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, or D types of environments by the North American Hazardous Location Approval standard. The heat dissipation ratings of the 1746-IC16 input module are 0.22 Watts per input point, 0.425 Watts minimum, and 3.95 Watts total. It has 16 inputs and a removable terminal block. The 1746-IC16 input module supports operating voltage ranges of 30 to 60 Volts DC at 131 degrees Fahrenheit and 30 to 55 Volts DC at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The 1746-IC16 SLC 500 Sinking DC input Module by Allen-Bradley is a 48V DC sinking module with 16 sinking inputs that uses a Removable Terminal Block (RTB). Its temperature-dependent voltage ranges between 30 and 60V DC sinking at 55°C and between 30 and 55V DC sinking at 60°C. The 1746-IC16 has a backplane draw current of 0.085A at 5V DC and one of 0A at 24V DC. The electrical signal in the input points has a maximum delay time of 4ms for both the ON and the OFF condition. The 1746-IC16 has an OFF-state voltage loss of 10V DC, a current leakage of 1.5mA, and the nominal current on the overall inputs is 4.1mA at a nominal module voltage of 48V DC. It provides a circuit isolation between the backplane and the inputs at 1500V AC tested for 60s and it has a dielectric withstand of 1500V AC. The 1746-IC16’s operating temperature range is between 0 and 60 °C (32 and 140 °F) at 5-95% relative humidity. Its non-operational storage temperature ranges between 40 and 85 °C (-40 and 185 °F). The 1746-IC16 has an operational shock of 30G (3 directional pulses for 11ms) and it can withstand a vibration of 1.0G at 5-200Hz.
