1746-ITV16

The Allen-Bradley 1746-ITV16 is an SLC 500 discrete input module. This module is specifically a high-speed input module that operates at a voltage range of 10-30 VDC and nominal input voltage of 24VDC. It supports source wiring configuration and ideally used with signaling devices that operates with high frequency, binary or ON/OFF switching such as encoders, totalizers, data loggers, counters and similar devices. It may be used in position monitoring and control of conveyors.

The 1746-ITV16 has a fast ON and OFF signal transition. Specifically, the ON signal delay has a maximum delay of 0.3 ms while the OFF delay has a transition time of 0.50 ms however, the typical signal delay for ON transition is 0.1 ms while the delay for OFF transition is .25 ms at 24VDC operation.

The 1746-ITV16 has a single group of inputs and does not come with individual channel isolation. It draws current from the backplane amounting to 85 mA at 5VDC and o mA at 24VDC. It has a maximum OFF state voltage input of 5VDC and maximum OFF state current input of 1.5 mA. Additionally, the module’s nominal input current is 8 mA at 24VDC. This module is provided with a removable terminal block for simplified wiring and maintenance convenience.

The 1746-ITV16 has a nominal input current of 8 mA at 24V DC and a maximum power dissipation of 3.6 W, making it suitable for time-critical applications that require rapid response. The 1746-ITV16 module is responsible for receiving and storing data in its data image table where he can be retrieved by all modular and fixed SLC 500 processors attached to it. It has removable terminal blocks that eliminate the need to disconnect wires. The 1746-ITV16 also includes filter circuitry and optical coupling for signal noise reduction. The 1746-ITV16 module’s input values are accessible by SLC 500 processors using Ladder Logic. Troubleshooting the module is easy with its LED indicators that show input status values. The SLC 500 system uses sharing-based hardware platform which includes various combinations of digital and analog I/O, thus saving cost and space. The 1746-ITV16 is intended for use in an environment with a 0 - 60 °C (32 - 140 °F) temperature and at 5 - 95% noncondensing relative humidity.
