The MVI46-MNET is a MODBUS TCP Client /Server module. This module is manufactured by the Allen-Bradley encompass partner company ProSoft Technology. This module is primarily used to enable MODBUS TCP I/P connectivity with SLC 5/02 M0/M1 or newer processors. It supports client and server functionality, with a configurable memory that supports user-customizable data mapping, this module may be used to communicate with any MODBUS TCP enabled devices that are connected over the same network and further supports integration to Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
The MVI46-MNET is provided with One (1) configuration port, in the form of an RJ45 port that supports RS232 standard without handshaking. It also has One (1) RJ45 ethernet port that functions as the module’s application port. It supports 10/100 Mbps transmission rate with dedicated link and activity LED indicators. It has an electrical isolation with 1500 V rms at 50 Hz for 60 seconds.
The MVI46-MNET is compatible for use in a wide variety of industrial applications such as Food processing, Petrochemical, Pulp and paper, Automobile manufacturing, Water and Wastewater, Oil and Gas and Power and Electric industrial applications. It comes with a 5000 Word register to and from the SLC 500 processor via M0/M1 data file transfer.

To install this module in a chassis, users must turn off the power from the rack (the module is not hot-swappable), and then insert the module into the SLC chassis. The Prosoft MVI46-MNET Modbus TCP/IP Interface Module has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). It draws 4 Watts of power from the backplane power supply.
