The 2706-PENETP module is a communication module that uses the EtherNet/IP network and that has been included in the 2706 product line of the InView display panels that are made by Allen-Bradley. The main purpose of this communication module is to integrate an InView display into other networks. It enables interaction with different equipment. Some of the activities the display panel can perform with this communication module include sending and receiving data and transferring the data to controllers or other remote panels and PCs. The Allen-Bradley 2706-PENETP communication module is compatible with the 2706-P22R InView industrial LCD panel. This display is surrounded by a NEMA Type 4 enclosure that protects its internal parts from external particles that can enter it and cause damages. This LCD has a red LED matrix.
This module uses a power source rated at 24 Volts DC and it can be mounted on a DIN Rail. Allen-Bradley recommends the use of a third-party DIN Rail. The rail can be a Lantronix or Digi DIN Rail. This network is required so that the panel can be connected easily to a PC and this will guarantee successful control. The Allen-Bradley 2706-PENETP communication module is intended for indoor use only. This means the module cannot be exposed to severe weather conditions and it must not be used in a room with a temperature outside a range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius or with humidity that condenses or that exceeds a relative level of 95 percent.
