The 2711P-B6C20D8 is a dual input PanelView Plus 6 operator terminal. This operator terminal is specifically part of the PanelView Plus 600 product category that is installed with a variety of communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS232 and USB ports. These variety of ports allow this operator terminal to communicate with modern and legacy automation devices specifically, Allen-Bradley’s PLC5 and SLC 500 legacy controllers and MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix modern controllers. Additionally, this operator terminal is also capable of communicating with 3rd part devices, protocol gateways and other programmable devices.

The embedded Ethernet port supports 10/100 Mbps communication speed with auto-negotiation capability and may be used in liners, simplex networks. For redundant Ethernet I/P networks, this operator terminal is compatible with stratix or Allen-Bradley ETAP switches to suit the mentioned network. The RS232 port is mainly used for point-to-point communication and ideal for within the panel communication and data exchange. It comes with adjustable baud rates and may cover short distances only. The USB ports support installation of USB, Keyboard for external input. Additionally, it may be installed with removable flash drive for external storage.

The provided non-volatile memory and Random Access Memory (RAM) to this terminal amount to 512MB each which may be expanded with the use of Secure Digital cards such as 1784-SDx or USB drives, as previously mentioned. It comes with Touchscreen and Keypad interfaces that functions simultaneously and may be used alternately during operation. It uses Ethernet and RS-232 serial ports for general communication and supports installation of optional DH-485, DH+ and ControlNet modules for additional communication. The 2711P-B6C20D8 also contains 2 USB ports for connecting various external devices such as keyboards and flash drives. It also supports SD cards for data backup and a battery-backed real-time clock for timestamping data.
