The Allen-Bradley 2711P-K6C20A8 is a PanelView Plus 6 operator terminal. This is a microprocessor-based device with primary purpose of providing real-time visualization and control of a certain process or machine. This terminal is primarily designed in compatibility with most industrial applications located in almost any industry. It has a hardware which can be fitted with appropriate protection equipment to suit the area of classification and environmental conditions. The 2711P-K6C20A8 allows the operator or process user to monitor the process via the 5.7-inch colored TFT screen with display resolution of 320 x 240 in 18-bit color graphics. Control and input commands are introduced via the keypad input interface which is composed of Ten (10) functions keys, navigation, alpha-numeric, confirmation and cancel buttons. This keypad assembly is engineered remain operational at minimum 1 million actuation counts using an operating force of 340 g. It supports linear ethernet topology however, Device Level Ring (DLR) topology may also be implemented with the use of external ethernet switches such as the Stratix unmanaged or managed switch or ETAP ethernet module. It also has an RS232 interface that enables point-to-point, short distance communication.

The user is able to control the operator interface by utilizing the Keypad to input information and data. This unit is powered using 100-240 VAC power. EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is supported by this terminal which is an open industrial network that supports real time I/O messaging, as well as message exchange. The Ethernet port connects to a controller on an EtherNet/IP network by using both the network and standard Ethernet connections. This port can work with application transfers and printing as well. The EtherNet/IP screen displays and allows the user to modify some of the EtherNet/IP communication settings for a PanelView terminal. The 2711P-RN20 Ethernet communication module is available for the 700 to 1500 terminals if another Ethernet port is required. The module has its own unique IP address. This port has an RJ45, 10/100Base-T connector for network communication and supports MDI/MDI-X connections. The parameters are downloaded with the application.
