The 2711P-K7C4A8 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is part of Allen-Bradley’s product portfolio of industrial Visualization components. This operator terminal contributes to an increased control efficiency and accuracy as this device centralizes control data and display the information through the built-in display screen. It communicates with automation controllers through the embedded communication interfaces allowing data exchange.

Specifically, the 2711P-K7C4A8 is built with a 6.5-inch colored active matrix TFT screen used for displaying a graphical representation of the process. The keypad operator input area is consisted of Ten (10) function keys, numerical and navigation keys. These assembly of input buttons allow the operator to enter control commands, navigate from one HMI page to another and select runtime objects. The integrated communication interface includes an Ethernet and DH485 communication port that is ideally used for networked data exchange between one or more controllers. The RS232 interface supports DH485 and DF1 protocol. This port is used for peer-to-peer connection. The USB ports are primarily used for connecting external devices especially input peripherals such as mouse and keyboard.

This operating system enables File Transfer Protocol (FTP), remote VNC access and compatibility with pdf files used for opening manuals and reports.

EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open industrial network that supports real time I/O messaging, as well as message exchange. The Ethernet port connects to a controller on an EtherNet/IP network by using both the network and standard Ethernet connections. This port can work with application transfers and printing as well. The EtherNet/IP screen displays and allows the user to modify some of the EtherNet/IP communication settings for a PanelView terminal.. This port has an RJ45, 10/100Base-T connector for network communication and supports MDI/MDI-X connections. The parameters are downloaded with the application.
