The Eaton Motor Operators are CSA and UL listed and CE marked. The motor operators are used to remotely or locally reset or switch circuit breakers ON or OFF. To provide these functionalities, the Eaton Motor Operators are mounted on the covers of the circuit breakers but they have to adhere to the dimensions of the circuit breaker. These motor operators are available in various voltages to accommodate a wide range of user needs. To provide standard load transfer switching capabilities, 2 circuit breakers can be interfaced with motor operators and a mechanical interlock. Note that to interface with a motor, the Eaton Motor Operators use a cam drive mechanism to facilitate connection to motors. In turn, the cam drives use a slide mechanism that connects with the handle of the circuit breakers.
The Eaton Motor Operators are available in different series and frame sizes. However, the series and frame size also define the supported voltage of a particular motor operator. For example, Series G E Frame Eaton Motor Operators have an AC voltage rating of between 100 and 240 Volts AC or 100 and 220 Volts DC, and a DC voltage rating of between 24 and 48 Volts DC. Series C F Frame Eaton Motor Operators, on the other hand, have voltage ratings of 208 Volts AC to 240 Volts AC, 110 Volts AC to 127 Volts AC, 220 Volts DC to 250 Volts DC, 110 Volts DC to 125 Volts DC, and 24 Volts DC. The Eaton Motor Operators contain internal limit switches and relays which are used to control the motor operation to prevent overdriving the circuit breaker handles and to prevent motor overload conditions. The Eaton Motor Operators also feature special pull-out locking mechanisms that are effective for providing simplified methods for padlocking the circuit breakers.
