D100CR40A

The D100CR40A is one of many configurations of Cutler-Hammer’s D100 Micro Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This family of PLCs is small in size, very economical, and makes use of true ladder logic programming. The D100CR40A is a 40 I/O controller with a manual, high-speed counter and is capable of being expanded with an analog input expandable module.  The D100CR40A has a 115 Volt AC power input; it's 40 I/O are made up of twenty-four 24 Volt DC inputs along with 16 relay outputs. The Controller’s I/O can be expanded through the use of expanders, up to 80 I/O, broken down into 48 inputs and 32 outputs. The D100CR40A also has a high-speed counter of up to 4 kHz; as with members of its family, it has flip-flop, 16 timers, 16 counters, master control, jump, one-shot, step sequence, and comes with a 1K RAM memory.

The D100CR40A can also have analog capabilities, as it can have an analog input module connected to it; this module, which must be installed before the controller, adds two analog inputs to the controller, independent of the controller’s total I/O count.  Only one analog input module can be connected to a controller, and each of the two analog input channels (each having twelve points that can be set) is capable of three input voltage ranges, namely 0 to 10 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts and 0 to 20 milliamperes DC. The signals received from these channels are translated to a register value, which is then placed in an assigned register.  All the twelve registers have their values preset and the signal register is continuously checked against the preset values in the registers, in order to control the system’s circuits. The DC100CR40A weighs approximately 3 pounds and 6 ounces (1.5 kilograms) and must be installed in a protected environment with an ambient temperature of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and stored within a temperature range of 5 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit. High power control panels and high voltage must be kept away from the immediate surroundings of the controller.
