The GE Fanuc IC200MDL243 Versamax 16-Channel Discrete Input Module is an input module that accepts AC signals from AC field devices (inputs) and returns them on a single common. The IC200MDL243 Input Module is designed to receive only discrete inputs from input devices that can have 2 states, on or off/open or closed, and these signals are intelligently processed by the CPU or Network Interface Module (NIU) as 16 bits of discrete input data in the Versamax CPU. The IC200MDL243 Input Module offers a modular design that supports hot module insertions, thereby increasing uptime and reducing the engineering and wiring time. The IC200MDL243 Input Module is installed in the backplane of the PLC by using a snap-in carrier base that helps to eliminate complex field wiring and supports the hot insertion and removal of the module.

The IC200MDL243 Input Module has 16 input channels that are individually isolated and capable of providing either positive logic or being sourcing type inputs. Each input point has 250 Volts AC continuous isolation between it and the next input and there is also 250 Volts AC continuous isolation between the module and ground. The IC200MDL243 Input Module does not support an external power supply because it draws all its power from the backplane. The IC200MDL243 Input Module has 100 milliamps of maximum backplane current at 5.0 Volts and a minimum possible load of 5.0 milliamps per point. The IC200MDL243 Input Module has a nominal voltage rating of 120 Volts AC and an acceptable input range of 0 to 132 Volts AC. The IC200MDL243 Input Module has 70 to 132 Volts AC on-state operating range and a maximum response time of 1 cycle. The IC200MDL243 Input Module has 16 LEDs that indicate the status of every input point and a status LED that shows the backplane operating status.
