The IC200MDL632 is part of the VersaMax I/O platform formerly by GE Intelligent Platforms now manufactured by Emerson Automation. This module is mainly used to interface signaling devices that operate in binary state or On/Off position such as pushbutton, limit switches, proximity sensors, auxiliary contacts and similarly operating mechanical or electrical devices. The IC200MDL632 has Sixteen (16) individually isolated input channels that support Positive and Negative logic wiring configuration. With individual channel isolation, each channel may be wired differently, according to the wiring configuration supported by the input device wiring configuration. Additionally, a failed input common or a failed channel does not affect the operation of the entire module. It may still continue to operate even with multiple failed channels. This contributes to an increased module availability which also translates to higher control system availability, suitable for more complex or critical applications. The input channels of the IC200MDL632 are provided with channel to channel isolation rating of 250VAC continuous; 1500VAC for 1 minute. This isolation rating also applies to optical isolation which is the user input to logic isolation and also the frame to ground isolation. Each channel accepts a nominal input signal voltage 125 VDC while the accepted input voltage range is 0-150 VAC with an input current requirement of 1.7 mA, typical at 125 VDC and 2.2 mA, typical at 150 VDC. Each channel has 0.5 ms On to Off and Off to On changeover delay and configurable filter setting of 0 ms, 1.0 ms and 7.0 ms where 1.0 ms is the default setting.
The GE Fanuc IC200MDL632 input module is a Versamax series input module that runs on DC voltage. Its nominal voltage rating is 125 Volts DC and it comes with 16 input points. All 16 of these input points are isolated. The IC200MDL632 supports positive logic and negative logic. The 16 input points can all be configured for either type of logic, which will affect how they operate. The positive logic inputs receive current from the input devices that are part of the same Versamax PLC system as the IC200MDL632 input module, and then they return the same current on the return. The negative logic inputs do the opposite, and they receive the current from the return and send it to the connected input devices which are found between the input terminals and the return terminals in the PLC. The GE Fanuc IC200MDL632 16-point isolated input module is CE certified. It receives its power from the Versamax PLC’s backplane. The OK LED on the IC200MDL632 input module glows green when the backplane power is connected to the module. The backplane power also powers the LEDs for each of the 16 input points, and these LEDs glow when their corresponding input points are powered on. The IC200MDL632 input module normally does not require filtering in order to operate properly, but in certain industrial environments or for certain applications, installing filters may protect the module, enhance its operation, or extend its lifespan. The isolation voltage on the IC200MDL632 input module is 250 Volts AC continuous and 1500 AC for up to 1 minute for the point to point isolation, the user input to logic isolation, and the user input to the frame ground isolation.
