About 1336 PLUS Drives

The 1336 PLUS drive series is a series of adjustable frequency drives by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. These drives feature voltage ratings of 200 to 240 Volts AC, 380 to 480 Volts AC, or 500 to 600 Volts AC, with an output frequency range of 0 to 400 Hertz. Additionally, this series of drives has a wide range of enclosures including the IP 00 Open, Enclosed IP 54 NEMA Type 12, Enclosed IP 20 NEMA Type 1, or Enclosed IP 65 NEMA Type 4. Generally, the 1336 PLUS drives are ideal for direct connection to the AC line with the right input power. Nevertheless, there are conditions where it might be ideal to add an isolation transformer or line reactor to the drive. There are many acceptable cable options for the installation of these drives. In most cases, installation with unshielded cable is recommended as long as it can be detached from the sensitive circuits.

The start and stop control circuits of the 1336 PLUS drives include solid-state elements. When there is a danger of the drives having accidental contact with moving machinery or unplanned liquid spills, solid debris, or gas, the drives might need extra hardwired stop circuits to help to get rid of the AC line power to this drive. When the AC power is removed, the inherent regenerative braking effect will be lost, and the motors will eventually stop, which leads to the need for an auxiliary braking method. Furthermore, the immunity of 1336 PLUS drives to the interference generated externally is superb. Typically, there are no unique precautions necessary for these drives beyond the usual installation practices required by the manufacturer. The suppression of the coils of the DC-energized contactors that are linked with the drives is highly recommended because they can lead to more serious electrical transients which can damage the drives.
