About PowerFlex 400

The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 400 AC drive series provides state-of-the-art speed and torque control for fan and pump applications in commercial and industrial systems. These drives come in the C to H Frame sizes with power ratings of 2.2 to 37 kilowatts at 200 to 240 Volts AC input and 2.2 to 250 kilowatts at 380 to 480 Volts AC input. The output voltage of drives in this series is adjustable between 0 Volts and the rated motor voltage at 0 to 320 Hertz output frequency and they have 97.5% efficiency. PowerFlex 400 drives are ideal for standalone applications and system integration. The flying start function offers users the option of connecting these drives into rotating loads without additional feedback hardware irrespective of the commanded speed or direction of the load. The PID controller automatically adjusts the output frequency of each drive to achieve seamless operation in variable torque applications. Centrifugal fans and pumps can benefit from the voltage reduction capabilities of the selectable fan/pump curves of this series of drives. Each PowerFlex 400 drive has 7 digital inputs and 2 analog outputs.

An integral human-machine interface featuring an LED display and a keypad is available with the PowerFlex 400 series drives and the drives support a range of common industrial and commercial network adapters including RS385, Modbus RTU, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP, and Bluetooth adapters. Drive programming and configuration can be done through the operator interface or within the Studio 5000 Logix Designer or Connected Components Workbench computer software. These drives are also equipped with Volts per Hertz control, auxiliary motor control, start on power-up control, and damper input control. The drives in the PowerFlex 400 series are compatible with a broad range of Allen-Bradley drive accessories to meet different application needs.
