About MPM Servo Motors

The Allen-Bradley medium-inertia servo motors in the MPM series are part of a new generation of servo motors with a high power density that are a combination of old and new technologies and that are able to perform motor acceleration more efficiently than older servo motors. They are made with new materials such as powerful magnets. Allen-Bradley has designed the MPM series servo motors to have the ideal combination of dynamics and power. Typical applications in worldwide industries that make use of Allen-Bradley MPM servo motors are printing, web handling, automotive, converting, and similar industrial applications that require extra power in a small package. The mechanical design of these products has taken into consideration details such as standardized IEC metric mounting options or rotatable DIN connectors so that the MPM series servo motors can be installed in virtually any position on machines and at every possible angle.

High-resolution absolute encoder feedback or resolver feedback is integrated into the MPM series servo motors to send information as accurately as possible to the servo drives that will form the control signal for the MPM series servo motors. Allen-Bradley has specifically manufactured the Kinetix 6000, 6200, and 6500 servo drives for fast and easy integration with MPM series servo motors. The MPM servo motors that are made in Class A are powered by 230 Volts AC voltage and the ones in Class B are powered by 460 Volts AC voltage. Some models in the MPM series come with a built-in brake if needed for the client applications for which the servo motors are intended. Devices from this series of servo motors are thoroughly tested to implement all the mandatory safety standards.
