About PLC 5

The PLC 5 controllers series is a series of programmable controllers which are used at the center of a machine architecture system which brings together existing and future networks by using different types of networks, including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, and DeviceNet networks. They offer connectivity between the SLC 500, ControlLogix, and MicroLogix controllers. These controllers can help to control the architecture and offer cost-effective connections to a wide range of devices. They feature input/output modules inside a single chassis with a power supply. The PLC 5 controllers come with onboard remote I/O scanner ports and onboard extended I/O scanner ports. These controllers are available in a wide range of input/output capacities and memory sizes. They can also be connected to a wide variety of networks for distributed processing and distributed input/output.

The PLC 5 controllers come with several programming features that help to serve different application demands. They come with ladder logic which programs a language and is representative of the relay logic. The subroutines in the controllers help to store the recurring sections of the program logic which can be accessed from multiple program files. They also feature sequential functional charts and structured texts. The PLC 5 controllers come with a maximum of 16 module I/O slots. Also, the controllers can be mounted by using a back panel or by using a rack. A wide variety of data formats are available in the PLC series. No external power is required for the controllers. The PLC 5 controllers are also available based on the number of user memory words, memory size, processor types. The PLC 5 controllers are also available with different input resolutions, input types, and output resolutions. Various operating voltages can be used to run the controllers. Multiple LED indicators are housed in the PLC 5 controllers to show different information.
