About Eaton Motor Operators

Eaton motor operators are easy to mount on Eaton circuit breakers in order to deliver local and remote control to these circuit breakers. With Eaton motor operators, the circuit breakers can be brought into 1 of 3 positions: ON, TRIPPED, or OFF. To make the whole system work, the users must select the appropriate motor operator based on the size and type of the molded case circuit breaker that is being used. The available series and frame combinations are the G Series with E Frames, the C Series with F Frames, the G Series with J Frames, and the G Series with L Frames. To accommodate different industrial plants and power supply configurations, Eaton motor operators run versions that work with 100 to 240 Volts AC, 100 to 220 Volts DC, 24 to 48 Volts DC, 208 to 240 Volts AC, 110 to 127 Volts AC, 220 to 250 Volts DC, 110 to 125 Volts DC, and 24 Volts DC voltages.

On the front of the Eaton motor operators, there are slots with keys for manually changing the state of the devices. The state of the Eaton motor operators can also be changed remotely by wiring signals to the terminals that are easily accessed from the front of the devices. The motor operators’ status indicator panel is easily visible on the front of the motor operators and it clearly shows the users what the status of the circuit breaker is based on the indicator colors. Inside the case of these devices are motors connected to cam drive mechanisms that move the levers of the circuit breakers. The mechanism has end position switches and they are mechanically designed not to interfere with the circuit breaker protection functions and to stop in precisely defined positions. The push-to-trip buttons on the device are used for preventive testing of both the motor operators and circuit breakers.
