About SVX 9000 Drives

The Eaton SVX 9000 series drives are intended for industrial use and they are adjustable frequency drives. These drives modify the frequency of variable speed motors in order to control their performance. They are manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. These drives are suitable for 3-phase operation. This series provides drives with compact designs that are easy to install and that at the same time will help save space. The only special requirement is that, like any other kind of automation equipment, the drives will need small clearances around them in order to release heat properly and avoid overheating. Among the voltage ratings of the Eaton Cutler-Hammer SVX 9000 drives are 3 different voltages that are accompanied by 3 different Horsepower ratings which run from 1 to 2000 Horsepower.

When it comes to the external parts of the Eaton SVX 9000 series drives, these parts can be either an open chassis, a NEMA Type 1, or a NEMA Type 12 enclosure. The selection of these enclosures will impact factors such as ventilation, heat release, and the ambient air temperature levels that are possible while the drive is operating. It is also important to know the right kind of environment to choose for the drives’ enclosure. Other features of the Eaton Cutler-Hammer SVX 9000 series drives are that these work with all the standard software, so there is no need to install additional software or perform a different kind of programming process. There is the option to choose the drives with the internal brake choppers. If these drives are going to be used in single-phase operations, derating must be done in order to apply the drives properly.
