Allen Bradley 1397 Drives

The Allen-Bradley 1397 Drives are a series of digital DC drives designed to provide microprocessor control for industrial DC motors. These drives are available in either regenerative or non-regenerative designs, and they combine highly advanced microprocessor technology with network communication options into 1 compact and cost-effective package. The 1397 Drives provides a cost-effective motor control solution by offering precise, accurate, and flexible application operation which is achieved through digital programming. For ease of use, each drive can be configured and programmed locally via a front-mounted control panel, or from externally connected Allen-Bradley SLC or PLC controllers. The 1397 Drive family comprises drives with standard ratings from 1.1 to 448 kilowatts (1.5 to 600 Horsepower) available in both regenerative and non-regenerative designs. They are also available in 230 Volts AC, 380 to 415 Volts AC, and 460 Volts AC input ratings.

The 1397 Drives offer a 100:1 performance ratio with speed adjustment from 0 to the rated speed, and they all have an efficiency of 98.6% (at the rated load and speed). Factory-installed options for this series include control interfaces (AC Line disconnect, Blower Motor starter, 115 Volt AC control interface card, Pulse encoder interface, dynamic braking, and I/O expansion card interfaces), communication modules (single-point remote I/O 115 Volts AC/24 Volts DC, RS-232/422, and DeviceNet modules), and human-machine interface module options (programmer and controller modules). User-installed options like 3-phase isolation transformers, line reactors, remote DIN mounted RS-232 modules, ControlNet to SCANport adapters, EtherNet/IP to SCANport adapters, and serial flash cables can be added to enhance the 1397 Drives’ performance and connectivity. All 1397 Drives are available as Open (IP 00) chassis-mounted drives, and they have an ambient temperature limit of 55 degrees Celsius.
