About PowerFlex 4M
The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 4M AC Series offers an extensive class of small, easy-to-use, and cost-effective drives that provide open-loop speed regulation. The drives are available in A, B, and C frame sizes with power ratings of 0.2 to 11 kilowatts in 120, 240, and 480 Volts AC single-phase and three-phase voltage classes. PowerFlex 4M provides auto-boost and slip compensation to ensure optimal performance across varying loads and each drive is equipped with class 10 electronic motor overload protection. Each unit features 5 digital inputs and 1 analog input. Apart from the local human-machine interface, the PowerFlex 4M AC drives have remote panel-mounted and wireless handheld human-machine interfaces with CopyCat functions for flexibility of configuration and programming. The integral RS-385 communication adapters allow for drive programming through computer software.
Volts per Hertz control is available on the PowerFlex 4M drives for smoother start-up torque and Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) provide dynamic braking capability for C frame drives in this series. The 10 LEDs on PowerFlex 4M AC drives serve as additional status indicators. Zero-Stacking support allows multiple PowerFlex 4M drives to be mounted side-by-side with minimal clearance. The 240 Volts single-phase drives and the 480 Volts 3-phase drives in this series have built-in electromagnetic compatibility filtering. All A and B Frame drives support DIN-Rail and panel mounting while C Frame drives only support panel mounting. The feed-through wiring configuration support of the PowerFlex 4M drives allows for their integration into applications that require variable motor speed control.
