About F Series Servo Motors

The F Series is a brushless servo motor series manufactured by Allen-Bradley. These motors are used for the precise control of a machine’s position, velocity, and acceleration. The F Series motors can be operated in a temperature range between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. The motor is available in 6 different frame sizes. The motors are available with multiple optical encoder line counts of 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000, and 5000 lines. Both braking and non-braking version are available in the F Series. The braking options are 24 Volts DC braking, 90 Volts DC braking, and the standard braking option. The motors are available with both the standard and NEMA 56C flange options. The F Series motors are available with different damping options ranging from 0.06 N-m/krpm to 0.37 N-m/krpm. The motors have maximum operating speeds of 3000 and 4000 RPM, depending on the load. All the servo motors are equipped with 8 poles. The thermostat rated voltage of the motor ranges from 0 to 250 Volts DC.

The Allen-Bradley F Series servo motors are marked with CE, CSA, and UL standards. The F Series motors are available with different frictional torque levels. The servo motors have different levels of thermal resistance. The motors are available with an IP 65 protection rating when coupled with military specification cable assemblies and optional shaft seals. These servo motors are capable of carrying an axial load in many applications. The F Series motors can be used with the Allen-Bradley 1398 motion control system. The servo motors should be installed in a location with minimal electromagnetic interference because the EMC noise adversely impacts motor performance by inducing stray signals.
