About 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches

The 803 rotating cam limit switch series is a series of heavy-duty control circuits by Allen-Bradley designed for machines with an iterative cycle of operation in applications where the motion is in direct proportion to the shaft rotation. These switch series are built for machinery and long-lasting applications like assembly and packing machines, steel forming, injection molding machines, punch press, and waterway gate and lock operation applications. The 803 rotating cam limit switch series is available in 6 different styles (styles A, B, E, EF, F, and P) to suit a wide range of applications, and these styles all have a common mode of operation. The 803 rotating cam limit switches make use of shaft-mounted cams which provide contact actuation at various positions as the shaft rotates, and these shafts can rotate in either direction along any mounting plane.

The 803 rotating cam limit switches are available with either 10 Amps snap-action contacts or 25 Amps normally closed contacts. The 803 rotating cam limit switches are also available with internal and external dwell and timing adjustment options (the internal dwell and timing adjustments are available for style A, B, and P switches, while the internal dwell adjustments are only available for style E and EF switches). They come in either standard left shaft extension versions (A, B, E, EF, and F) or right shaft extension versions (style P), or they can be ordered with the customized non-standard left, right, and double shaft extensions depending on application needs. The 803 rotating cam limit switch series has 150 RPM standard shaft speed (except style P switches which have 400 RPM maximum shaft speed), and they offer adjustable degrees of cam rotation from 11 to 360 degrees. The 803 rotating cam limit switches have NEMA Type 1, 4, and 13 enclosures, and they are built for operation in a temperature range of -30 to 66 degrees Celsius.
