The CompactBlock I/O 1791R modules series is a series of stand-alone CompactBlock remote I/O base modules by Allen-Bradley that communicate and transmit data via the remote I/O link. These modules are the basis for remote I/O node systems and their compact design makes them ideal for applications with limited space and highly distributed I/O block requirements. The CompactBlock I/O 1791R modules are connected to the Allen-Bradley PLC, SLC, or SoftLogix programmable controllers via remote I/O scanner modules, and the data from these modules are easily accessible on the SLCs or SLC programmable controller’s data tables. The CompactBlock I/O 1791R module series comprises only base modules, and each module consists of I/O circuits, removable terminations, and a built-in remote I/O adapter.
The CompactBlock I/O 1791R module series are DC powered devices that require 24 Volts DC power for operation. These modules have DIP switches that can be used to set the rack addresses and desired baud rates, and they all come with removable terminal blocks (RTBs) that allow for easy installation, removal, and replacement procedures without rewiring. The CompactBlock I/O 1791R module series offers remote I/O modules with 4 to 16 input and output points (sinking/sourcing) depending on the application needs. The CompactBlock I/O 1791R modules are designed for Panel or DIN Rail installation, and they have IP 20 rated enclosures. These modules have colored light indicators that indicate the module and COM statuses, and module-to-module connection can be achieved via the use of the Allen-Bradley 1791D-15CMCBL connecting cable. The CompactBlock I/O 1791R module series has an operating temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, and they are c-UL-us, CE, and C-TICK certified.
