The 1336 Transistor Assembly series by Allen-Bradley is a family of transistor and IGBT output replacement accessories for the 1336 PLUS, PLUS II, FORCE, IMPACT, and REGEN series of drives. Accessories in this series include the main transistor and IGBT assembly kit with a built-in gate drive interface (the 1336-QOUT-xxx), the precharge transistor module (the 1336-QPRE-xxx), and the thyristor (SCR) assembly (the 1336-SCR-xxx). The 1336 Transistor Assemblies are available with a single transistor and thyristor per kit, 2 transistors and thyristors per kit, 4 transistors and thyristors per kit, 2 transistors and 2 gate drive boards per kit, or 4 transistors and 2 gate drive boards per kit. They are compatible with 230 Volts AC, 460 Volts AC, and 575 Volts AC drives with ratings from 7.5 to 800 Horsepower. There are slight model variations across the entire series, but all 1336 transistor assemblies have a common installation mode.
The 1336 Transistor Assemblies are installed on the drive’s heatsink. When installing the 1336 Transistor Assembly, careful considerations must be taken to meet the mounting surface or mounting torque specifications of that particular transistor unit or kit. To install the 1336 Transistor Assembly, the power must first be disconnected from the drive and the bus voltage on the +DC and -DC end of the terminal block TB1 must be zero before any installation attempt is made. The installation surface must be prepared first by coating it with the supplied thermal compound (Dow Corning DC 340) and then mounting the required 1336 Transistor Assembly on the heatsink. Then the transistor mounting holes are aligned with the heatsink holes, and the new screws supplied with the kit are inserted into the heatsink holes to hold the transistor module in place.
