Allen Bradley PowerFlex 523

The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 523 AC drives are designed for motor control applications requiring up to 22 kilowatts and 30 Horsepower of output. The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 523 drives are ideally suited for standalone machines. The PowerFlex 523 AC drives are optimized for use in shared DC bus and common DC bus installations. The 3-phase input on the PowerFlex 523 drives provides a full rating whereas the single-phase input derates the output to a 35% rating. The available power output ratings range from 0.2 to 22 kilowatts (0.25 to 30 Horsepower). The PowerFlex 523 drives support global voltage classes of 100 to 600 Volts AC. The input frequency tolerance is from 47 to 63 Hertz. The control options provided on PowerFlex 523 drives include sensorless vector control and Volts per Hertz control. The PointStop drive feature allows the users to stop the motor load in a consistent position without encoder feedback. The PowerFlex 523 drives support 1 PID loop for enhanced application flexibility.

The I/O available on the PowerFlex 523 drive includes 1 analog input, 5 digital inputs, 1 analog output, and 1 relay output. The RS-495/DSI interface enables PowerFlex 523 drives to be used in a multi-drop configuration. The optional communications kits are available for the ProfiBus and DeviceNet networks. The PowerFlex 523 drives support USB programming by using either the Connected Components Workbench or Studio 5000 Logix Designer software. Without derating, the PowerFlex 523 drives can support an air temperature between -4 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit. With derating, these drives can support -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit or -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit with an optional control module fan. The drives can be mounted side-by-side with only a 1.96-inch airflow gap at the top and bottom of the drive.
