The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 527 series is a family of adjustable frequency AC drives. These drives are designed exclusively for use with the Logix Programmable Automation Controllers that allow for development and use through the Studio 5000 Logix Designer software. The safe torque-off safety feature is available as a standard feature on all drives. The PowerFlex 527 drives are certified by the RCM, CE, TUV, KCC, and EAC standards. The power ratings available for the PowerFlex 527 family drives range from 0.4 to 22 kilowatts and 0.5 to 30 Horsepower. This drive family can be used with global voltages ranging from a minimum of 100 Volts AC to a maximum of 600 Volts AC. The PowerFlex 527 drives come with integrated dual Ethernet ports which enables drive use in multiple network topologies.
The PowerFlex 527 drives are available in 5 frame types, 2 of which (Frame D and E) can be mounted using screws, while Frames A, B, and C can be mounted on a DIN rail or with screws. The recommended maximum altitude for PowerFlex 527 drive installation is 1000 meters. The temperature of the air surrounding an operating drive should be maintained between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius. At higher ambient temperatures, the drive output derates. The relative humidity should be kept between 0 and 95%. The PowerFlex 527 drives support multiple control algorithms for frequency control, including basic Volts per Hertz control, sensorless vector control, and economizer and fan/pump Volts per Hertz control. Position control and velocity loop algorithms are also supported. The current deceleration, coast, and disable modes are some of the stop modes supported by PowerFlex 527 drives.
