About Panelview 1000
The PanelView 1000 Series is a family of Allen-Bradley PanelView Standard Operator Terminals that provide a range of control and monitoring capabilities that are suitable for industrial applications. The display type on each terminal is an Active Matrix Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) with a cold cathode fluorescent backlight. They are available in 640 by 480 pixels, monochrome, grayscale (4 gray colors), and color (32 colors) displays with 8.3 x 6.2-inch dimensions. The touchscreen, keypad, or touchscreen and keypad combination input options are available for the terminals in this series and they have NEMA Type 12/13, IP 54, 4X (indoor use), and IP 65 enclosures to meet the environmental requirements of different applications.
The PanelView 1000 terminals are available in 85 to 264 Volts AC or 85 to 32 Volts DC power ratings. Both the PV1000G and the PV1000C models have a flash memory of 1008 KB. The touchscreen versions weigh 3 kilograms while the keypad models weigh 3.06 kilograms. The flat and lightweight design of these terminals saves mounting space and each unit has 6 mounting clips for convenience. Applications for the PanelView 1000 terminals can be created with the PanelBuilder32 software. Their communication options include 1 RS-232 port and 1 Remote I/O communication port. The Remote I/O port on PanelView 1000 operator terminals is compatible with all Allen-Bradley I/O links and it enables the terminals to communicate with PLC/SLC controllers, transfer applications, and communicate with I/O scanners. Among other things, the RS-232 port has printing support. All PanelView 1000 terminals are suitable for use in environments where the operating temperature does not fall outside a range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius.
PanelView 1000 Startup Failure
If your PanelView 1000 fails to startup properly, always check the power supply first. Ensure the terminal is receiving the correct voltage and that the wiring and connections to the power source are valid. In addition, you should also ensure the DC power positive and negative are attached to the proper terminals.
PanelView 1000 Status Indicators
The status indicators are located on the back of your PanelView 1000 terminal. The COMM indicator is green and reflects communication. The FAULT indicator is red and reflects hardware faults. Upon startup, the fault indicator should be off and the comm indicator on. If the fault indicator flashes a few times at startup, this is not a concern. However, if both indicators are off you should check the power cable. See the table below to interpret the terminal's indicator status:
