About PowerFlex 525

The PowerFlex 525 series is a series of easy-to-use variable frequency drives. These drives support 3 phase lines. This series is mainly designed for mid-range machine control and they offer flexibility along with space conservation. The drive series is conformally coated, which reduces the dust and moisture build-up in the outer layer of the drive. The drives can be operated at a temperature of up to 70 degrees Celsius. The PowerFlex 525 drives are available in 5 different frame sizes with power ranges from 0.4 to 22 kilowatts. The input voltage rating of the drive series lies between 200 and 240 Volts AC. The PowerFlex 525 series features the embedded Ethernet/IP adapters. These adapters support explicit messaging. An automatic device configuration feature is also available in this series. Different types of enclosures are present in the PowerFlex 525 series. These enclosures include the IP 20 NEMA/Open, and the IP 30 NEMA/UL Type I enclosures.

The PowerFlex 525 series drives can be easily installed and programmed according to the drive operator’s needs. LCDs are included as human-machine interface modules. The drives have improved visibility and increased resolution. They support more than 7 languages. The PowerFlex 525 series come with different motor control options, including sensorless vector control, Volts per Hertz control, and Force technology control. A permanent motor magnet is present for motor control which helps to improve energy efficiency and becomes cost-effective. The 525 series variable frequency drives are used in a wide range of applications including fans and pumps. The PowerFlex 525 series drives meet all the EMC requirements. The drives come with different safety features. Both motor overload and overtemperature protection features are available in the 525 series drives.
