About S811 Soft Starters

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811 series soft starters are intelligent devices which are used to control open, enclosed, and motor control center applications. Using a soft starter device can reduce operating costs and increase the productivity and efficiency of factory environments. These soft starters are being used as alternatives to the star-delta starters. They can easily work with 3-phase inductive loads. The soft starter devices in this series are available in a wide variety of options. They come in different frame sizes, different ampere ratings, different maximum current capacities, and different power ratings. The control voltage rating of this series is 24 Volts DC. The operating frequency of the device is 47 to 63 Hertz. These devices are also available in different operating voltage ratings. The S811 soft starters are available with standard control options as well as the extended ramp start option. All of these devices have a bypass mechanical lifespan of 10M. These starter devices are resistant to different shock levels of up to 15 G.

The S811 soft starters are equipped with Ethernet IP, Profibus, Modbus, and DeviceNet ports for internal communication. They feature digital interface modules on the front which allow the users to modify the control parameters, enable or disable the protection features, set different variables, monitor the system parameters, and access the fault queues. The S811 soft starters feature sophisticated monitoring functions, including the power factors, phase currents, phase voltages, and device temperatures. These devices are all equipped with overload protection features which ensure long-term health for the device. The S811 soft starters are widely used in water/waste-water industry, gentle belt starts applications, and pumps and fans in HVAC applications. These devices have been engineered to meet industry standards like the UL, CSA, RoHS, CE, C-Tick, and CCC standards.
