The F Series is a medium-inertia brushless servo motors series by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. These motors are manufactured by using ferrite magnets which provide greater levels of inertia for matching larger loads. These servo motors are available in 2 frame sizes and they can be mechanically interchangeable with the H series. The servo motors in this series are available with continuous torque from 3.5 to 28 N-m. The F Series servo motors are manufactured with maximum speed ratings of up to 4000 RPM. The standard versions of the F Series servo motors come with 2000-line incremental encoders. These servo motors are mainly used in web processing, machine tool, textile machinery, and CAM replacement applications. The F Series servo motors have 4 times greater inertia levels than the H Series servo motors do.
The F Series servo motors come with internal thermal switches that activate if the motors overheat. The motors are economical and have compact designs that make them suitable for harsh environmental conditions. These motors are UL-recognized and they meet all the requirements for the EMC standards. The ambient temperature for motor operation lies between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature of the series lines between -30 and 70 degrees Celsius. The F Series uses maximum switching currents of 5 Amps. The rated voltage of the F Series servo motors ranges from 0 to 250 Volts DC at 50 to 60 Hertz. The contacts in the servo motors are closed by default. The motors come with Mylar Nomex that is capable of withstanding insulation dielectrics. The F Series servo motors offer braking systems as holding brakes. They are designed to hold the motor shaft at 0 RPM with the rated holding torque. These motors come with a 1-year warranty starting from the installation date.
