About AC Servo 1391

The 1391 AC servo drive series is a series of pulse width modulated digital servo drives that consist basically of a programmable servo drive with a single axis. These drives have been designed by Allen-Bradley. These drives are able to operate servo motors from the Allen-Bradley 1326 series. The 1391 AC series servo drives also enable these servo motors to operate with greater precision, and with increased speed, and all this can be done through an encoder output that produces 4 channels of different lines each and 2 marker pulses per motor revolution that feeds position information to the position controllers.

The Allen-Bradley 1391 AC series servo drives can be chosen with contactor auxiliary switches, current or torque amplifier options, or external shunt regulators. These operations help to enhance each function that the drive brings by default. Other important features that can be added to the drives are torque or current monitors that help the users to have a better vision of the conditions in which the drives are operating at the moment. Some of the most important parts of the Allen-Bradley 1391 AC series servo drives are status LEDs, circuit breakers with fuses, LCD displays that contains 2 lines and 16 characters, a keypad with 5 buttons that are generally used for programming, control signals, power connections, duty cycle switches, and ground studs. The status LEDs flash green when there are no faults but when the bus is low, they are steady green when there are no faults and the operating voltage is at a great level, and they flash red when a fault has occurred and the functioning of the drive is affected.
