About SLC 150

The SLC 150 programmable controller series is part of the 1745 product line introduced by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The SLC 150 processor units are used with optional EEPROM modules and different expansion units. Also, these processor units can be used with components such as pocket programmers, timer counter access terminals, and proprietary PC software. The I/O expansion units are connected to the processor units if special I/O configuration is needed. For high-speed counting, these processors use high-speed input (HSI) modules that are available as options. The SLC 150 processors can be combined with a maximum of 4 HSI modules. The HSI modules allow for the connection with expansion units or other HSI modules through side sockets. Every SLC 150 processor unit is also equipped with a communication port, memory module compartment, input power fuse, and wiring terminals.

The SLC 150 processor units come with multiple I/O status LED indicators and switches for restarting after a power loss or a fault. The 5 red LED indicators include signals for the PC run, CPU fault, DC power, low battery, and forced I/O situations. These units have advanced diagnostics capabilities and back-up power for the CMOS RAM. The RAM program of the processors can be stored in the EEPROM through personal computers or pocket programmers. The processors have an auto-load feature that loads the program automatically. The SLC 150 processor units have incoming line wiring terminals and wiring terminals for 20 inputs. The SLC 150 units have a hinged cover that comes with writing blocks for the easy identification of external circuits. The users will benefit from self-lifting pressure plates that simplify wire insertion and ensure that the connection is secured. The wires that are used with these units are the #14 AWG type. Besides that, the SLC 150 processors feature wiring terminals for 12 outputs.
