About 1788 Linking Devices

The 1788 linking devices are Allen-Bradley manufactured linking devices which help to connect information or control label networks with device-level networks. They offer a single plant-wide control and information platform. These devices have the ability to distribute the control architecture throughout an industrial facility. They help to provide fast and integrated solutions by adding PROFIBUS PA to any Logix platform. These devices offer the DeviceNet functionalities which help to connect 63 DeviceNet slave devices to an Ethernet TCP/IP interface. The 1788 linking devices come with many different features. They offer redundancy options with linking devices, H1 media, ControlNet media, and Ethernet/IP device-level ring topologies. These devices can be fully integrated with the PlantPAx process automation system. They offer auto device discovery and configuration features and they support up to 16 devices on a single segment. They come with built-in conditioners and protection systems on 2 H1 ports. The 1788 linking devices feature DTM for asset management. The devices are certified with the c-UL-us, CE, RCM, KC, and Ex standards.

The 1788 linking devices are available with both open and IP 67 rated enclosures. The devices have different input power ratings to meet specific user demands. The linking devices are available based on the isolation voltage, input power, power consumption and dissipation, power requirement, and terminal torque ratings. For communication, they use the Foundation Fieldbus modules. The 1788 linking devices can be mounted by using a 35-millimeter DIN rail. The operational temperature of these devices ranges between -25 and 60 degrees Celsius. The 1788 linking devices can be integrated into the Studio 5000 Logix designer software environment. The devices use RJ 45 connectors for Ethernet/IP connections. These devices have a thermal dissipation of 6.1 BTU/hour.
