About SLC 100

The SLC 100 series is an Allen-Bradley series of manufactured programmable controllers that are also known as PLCs. These PLC devices have different features which include counters, timers, switch registers, and different relay logics. These controllers are used in a wide range of applications including machine tools, molding and casting machines, assembly machines, and material handling applications. The input voltage range of these controllers ranges from 170 to 265 Volts AC and 18 to 30 Volts DC. These devices use batteries for backup. The controllers use 10 inputs and 6 outputs and have options for expansion to up to 112 I/O. These devices can be mounted by using DIN Rails. These controller devices support both analog and digital inputs and the 1745-c2 cables for internal communication. The front part of these controllers is equipped with LEDs to display information. The controllers are equipped with CMOS RAM which is a non-volatile memory.

The SLC 100 controllers use microprocessors to process different application demands. The controllers are equipped with 10 communication ports and a single incoming line wiring terminal each. The output status indicators are located next to the diagnostic indicators and the battery compartments are placed next to the communication ports. There is an auto/manual switch on these controllers. The input in the SLC 100 controllers is compatible with current sourcing PNP input devices. The controllers can sustain operation for approximately 300 milliseconds when there is a power outage. The memory of the controllers can store a maximum of 885 words and take 15 milliseconds of reading time. The counters on the controllers have the capacity to make 9999 counts. The noise immunity of the controllers meets the NEMA standard ICS 2-230 ratings. These SLC 100 controllers can only be used in a temperature range of 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
