About Servo Drive 1398

The Allen-Bradley 1398 series digital servo drives are intended to be connected to both a motor and a controller in order to perform their functions. They work in different functional modes and they can be connected to any computer with the ULTRA Master software installed on it. These drives have been designed by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1398 series of digital servo drives come with simple and compact designs that cover the electronic parts such as the power supply unit and the shunt regulator. They come with indicators and connectors on the front panel, but all the other components can be found inside the drives.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1398 series digital servo drives include microcontroller technology that is in charge of performing all the calculations related to digital current, position loop, and speed control. These servo drives also include intelligent power module technology that gives the drives a high frequency and digital pulse width modulation. The digital pulse width modulation controls variables such as the current loop, overcurrent, short circuit, and overtemperature protection. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1398 series digital servo drives feature 5 digital I/O inputs, 2 dedicated and 2 selectable analog I/O inputs, and these require an input power range of 100 to 240 Volts AC. Some of the tools required to perform the installation of these drives are a DOS computer with a 286 microprocessor, a hard disk with 2 MB of free disk space, and a video graphics array monitor. It is also recommended to use a mouse and version 3.1 of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
